- Notice Your Triggers. When you feel the urge to argue, ask: “Am I reacting to the moment—or recreating chaos?”
- Practice the Pause. When emotions rise, take 3 slow breaths before speaking. This interrupts the dopamine cycle.
- Choose Calm on Purpose. Schedule quiet time—walks, prayer, meditation, journaling. Teach your nervous system that calm is safe.
- Build Safe Support. Surround yourself with people who model stability, not chaos. Spend more time with those who bring peace.
