Rubber Meets the Road:
- Audit Your Google Business Profile.
- Open it right now. Check your hours, services, categories, and photos. Add at least 3 new photos this month and make sure your description includes the keywords people actually use (“near me,” your city name, your service).
- Create a Review Request System.
- Stop leaving reviews to chance. Build a habit: every time you close a sale or finish a project, ask for a review. Make it easy—send a direct link by text or email. Even one new review a week compounds fast.
- Respond to Every Review.
- Positive or negative, respond. Google rewards engagement, and customers trust businesses that acknowledge feedback. A simple “thank you” goes a long way.
- Write One Hyperlocal Post.
- This week, write a short blog or social post about something happening in your city, county, or neighborhood. Use the name of the area. This signals relevance and helps you rank for “near me” searches.
- Partner Locally.
- Identify one local business, nonprofit, or event you can collaborate with this quarter. Cross-promotions, guest blogs, or event sponsorships not only get you seen—they create valuable local backlinks Google loves.
- Check Consistency.
- Make sure your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) are exactly the same everywhere online—website, Google profile, social media, directories. Even small mismatches can hurt rankings.
- Measure and Repeat.
- At the end of each month, search your own business + “near me.” Track progress, see what’s showing up, and adjust. Local SEO is ongoing, not one-and-done.
