Sales is a Mind Game: Play to Win

Rubber Meets the Road: 4 Ways to Train Your Mind to Win in Sales

  1. Catch the Lie—Replace It Fast ➤ When the voice in your head says, “They’re not interested,” “You’re bothering them,” or “You’re not good at this”—call it out. Say out loud the opposite: “They need what I offer.” The truth has to be louder than the fear.
  2. Start Your Day With a Win You Control ➤ Before you check your phone or email, do one small action that proves you’re in charge—journal 3 goals, speak affirmations, or prep your prospecting list. Win your mind before the world has a chance to distract it.
  3. Use a “Reset Phrase” Mid-Day ➤ When emotions spike, have a go-to phrase to reset your brain. Something like: “I do hard things,” “Next call, next chance,” or “I respond, I don’t react.” Anchor your response before your emotions take over.
  4. Track Mindset, Not Just Metrics ➤ For one week, rate your mindset each day (1–10) and write a quick note about what affected it. Patterns will show up. When you learn what throws you off—you can build guardrails to stay focused.
