What are limiting beliefs?!

They are stories that we either tell ourselves, a story imprinted on us from someone else and/or a story developed through a traumatic experience. They are negative and often irrational thoughts or stories about our inadequacies, reminders of failures, or perceived failures, limited abilities, and lack of _____(you fill in the blank for what fits). These beliefs can be deeply ingrained in our minds wrapped in the emotion of fear, making it difficult for us to see beyond them. (P.S. I talk more about this in one of my recent blogs! 😉)

 

How do we eliminate them?!

First, you want to start with an awareness of what your limiting beliefs are. Take time to write out your limiting beliefs and question where they came from. Once you have them written out, seek wisdom and re-record the positive belief in your brain. Train your brain to recognize the limiting belief as a lie by getting the truth in your face!!

 

Write out affirmations on note cards, mirrors, post-it notes, or really anywhere that you will constantly be reading them. Now, build your faith muscle in yourself with ACTION! The more positive action your brain recognizes, the more confident you will become in your own abilities.
